GRADUATE HOSPITAL, known to many as Southwest Center City, has the advantageous position of being located within a few short-walking minutes of premier Rittenhouse and Fitler Squares.  South Street to Washington Avenue/Broad Street to the Schuylkill River creates the boundaries to a neighborhood that’s “coming into its own” in the new millennium.  Due to its convenient location, opposite University of Pennsylvania, HUP, CHOP, Drexel University and Wharton, connected by the South Street Bridge, it has always been attractive to grad students, professors, artists and health care professionals. The neighborhood is affectionately called "SoSo" for "South of South (Street)", an up-and-coming residential neighborhood that is experiencing an amazing renovation/new construction-housing boom. Making the Graduate Hospital neighborhood even more exciting is the revitalization project of The Schuylkill River Trail & Park, which extends from downtown Philadelphia to Oaks in Montgomery County. The entire length of the trail is over 100 miles.
